Let's play a little picture game, shall we? The rules are simple!
Below are 6 Tobaccos of different blend types and different cuts, in no particular order, as follows:

  • A - Virginia Perique in Flake form [/*]
  • B - Virginia Flake cut into Cube Cut [/*]
  • C - Lane 1Q in Ribbon Cut [/*]
  • D - Fusilier's Ration (Balkan) in Krumble Cake [/*]
  • E - Penzance (English) in Broken Flake [/*]
  • F - MacBaren Club Blend - Curly / Spun Cut [/*]
As well as a set of 6 pipes of different size and shape, as follows:
  • 1 - Prince Shape, Size 3 [/*]
  • 2 - Billard Shape, Size 5 [/*]
  • 3 - Rhodesian, Size 4 [/*]
  • 4 - Bent Egg Freehand, Size 4 [/*]
  • 5 - Bent Chimney, Size 4 [/*]
  • 6 - Bent Dublin, Size 4 [/*]
The game is to associate tobaccos to pipes! You can do as many as you want, but each tobacco and pipe can only be picked once. For example, a possible solution would be: "1A 2C 3B 4D 5E 6F". You are much invited to voice your thoughts on why you associated a particular blend type or cut with a particular bowl shape or size.
I will post the "official" solution next Wednesday, January 22nd 2014 at Noon (EST). The winner will get a surprise packet from me, in case there are multiple winners, I'll do a random draw :). Disclaimer: This is purely a game for private fun and entertainment of this wonderful community and I'm not associated with pipesmagazine.com or any site sponsor. The price is purely an incentive to play. Must be 18 or older.
Game on and good luck!

Ok, here is my guess and reasons.
1B-Smaller pipe and bowl for cube cut

2A-Taller bowl for fold and stuff flake

3D-Nice size and bowl size for an english/balkan

4F-Good size and shape for spun cut

5C-Systems smoke aromatics well

6E-Nice size and shape for broken flake
I would actually smoke any of the tobacco in any of the pipes. Just depends on the one I grabbed at the time.

I'm not going to play. I like the Stanwell though, I would smoke navy flake in that.

But deep down I think there is a trick here, that maybe you smoke all the blends in all the pipes?
