Is it the appropriate time to ponder the idiocy of royalty?
Yah... well, we don't want to get pegged as political... or pegged in any way, form, or fashion. Is it the appropriate time to ponder the idiocy of royalty?
THEY do speak English. We speak American.I just wish they would learn to speak English !
Which version of it?Is it the appropriate time to ponder the idiocy of royalty?
The cobblestones of the Road To Hell...First off, this is made with all good intentions
almost posted... "First off, this is made with all good intentions, in which the roads to hell are made of." But, I didn't want it to sound like I was inviting disaster. But...The cobblestones of the Road To Hell...
Carry on.
I haven't seen carpeting in bathrooms since the 70's. My parents thought it strange and kind of stupid. On the other hand, they had the world's ugliest green shag carpet in the living room.Must just be the age of the homes my friend is living in, or the area or something.
When I take my debate team to a tournament at the richest high school in our state, I am always amazed that they have carpet in their bathrooms. Like a public bathroom, and it always looks clean. But, why? ha ha. I think that they just want to make the impression that their students never piss in the floor.
Many in the rural areas, will get their eggs off a stand at the road, where the eggs have been setting outside by the road for days, and I don't refrigerate them to keep them fresh, but to just get them off the counter, where one of my many visiting kids will knock them into the floor.Americans are obsessed with refrigeration. In France eggs are sold off the shelf. They sit on the counter at home.
Ive never heard not rinsing dishes.
Back on the refrigerator issue…there is far less food borne deaths and illnesses here than in the US. US foods are filthy in comparison and you cant refrigerate away ecoli.
Compton Mackenzie (go on, look him up) used to preface his novels with an explanation that he used an S in spelling Latin-derived words, and a Z in all words of Greek origin. Which is what the Greeks and Romans did, respectively (thus 'sympathize', and 'criticize', and 'acclimatise' and 'demilitarise', etc. Unfortunately this commendable, and indisputably logical, practice has never caught on in the world of British literature.I will never understand why they started persecuting the zed. Older British dictionaries made proper use of the letter 'z' in fine words such as "organize" and the like... but somewhere in the 20th century, they replaced this historical and proper use with the 's.' I've seen speculation it was due to a wartime shortage, but I'm skeptical.
Careful, now: we are venturing perilously close to politics here, and I won't be taking any prisoners until I'm banned for life.Is it the appropriate time to ponder the idiocy of royalty?
Hmmmm No!Is it the appropriate time to ponder the idiocy of royalty?
I think this is the crux for Americans. Just wiping off the soap.... the very idea makes me shudder. We have one sink full of hot soapy water, and another that is empty with water just running to just rinse off the soap before drying. Then I took the drying up cloth, wiped everything and put them away.
You obviously didn't come to Wales and have chicken curry half n half. The food in the UK in general is a damn shame.
I just can't believe that. Not rinsing the soap off of the dishes was what got me. They just scrub them in soap and let the soap dry... or so I am told.
Yep, people just don't understand the charm of having the most beautiful women in the world, and they hate wearing clothes.
Newports? Ugg, I am afraid you lost me there.
I think we have come to the main cause of the issue. You have two sinks. We have one. Unless you are posh.We have one sink full of hot soapy water, and another that is empty with water just running to just rinse off the soap before drying.
It's almost two sinks. So, the lack of having an appropriate sink is why you guys don't rinse the soap off?I think we have come to the main cause of the issue. You have two sinks. We have one. Unless you are posh.
Here are photos of my sink and egg container on the worktop.
