Thanks very much for posting this. The 70's are easy to make fun of but they were a great, great time. My Dad walked around the house with a pipe in his mouth and it was just normal. I miss those days. They will not return.

Neat pic. Bet he called that room his "den" - that was an older term for "man-cave", and a much classier term, I think.

For some reason, 'man cave' sounds like a woman gave the 'den' that name.

I was taken in by this picture. My cousin and I were playing a game of chess and I was puffing away. "Am I making you nervous....you're smoking a little faster than usual." He blamed the pipe for his loss, said it was distracting. I find myself wondering....was there any music playing during this match?...Or was it a quiet intense match? Also, That pipe is fantastic. Thanks for sharing this!
