Phillip Trypis, Canadian Pipe Carver

About five years ago, a Forums member regularly sold pipes carved by Phillip Trypis on Forums. He must have sold scores of them over time. Trypis was a craftsman at Brigham for years before going into business for himself. Does anyone know if Phillip Trypis is still in business, and if he is still selling pipes? I know he had a serious fall, but I think he returned to pipe making, though he couldn't travel to market them as he had in the past. I'd be interested in any update, since I saw so many of his pipes over those years on Forums.

After a little more digging on the Trypis pipes, I think the user name of the member who sold quite a few Trypis pipes was smokeybear, and he had a few up every week in 2014. Ring a bell with anyone?

You want it. You have it. Found only one on ebay. The dark photos are a bummer.

Great carved leave motif on bowl. A few tooth marks on mouth pc. I'm no expert, I'm describing what I see with limited knowledge.

I have never even heard of him. But love hearing about other pipemakers for more pipe availability, and choices. Also note on one of the photos for that pipe he engraved a leaf on the side of that pipe.

I have two of these that I inherited from my father somewhere. I can try and find them and take pictures though I’m not much of a photographer.
