Does anyone have any advise to repair a chewed up silver band on the shank side? It looks like it’s possibly been removed before so ideally I could get it off again.

Looks like little jagged flash maybe. Heating with a heat gun will probably allow removal.
I’d file the jagged end off with a fine jeweler’s file, use a high grit paper to get rid of the marks and polish it.
Or once it’s in your hand it might not look bad.

That's hardened excess glue.

99.9% chance it simply fell off one day, and was sloppily glued back on by the owner.

Getting it off is possible but very tricky without doing more harm (damage) than good.

Get it in hand, perhaps clean up what looks like excess glue, polos the silver (I’m assuming from the small hallmarks on band that that’s what it is) and enjoy the heck out of it.
That’s a beauty. If collectibility is your focus, I’d only trust it to a top-tier restorer.

Those silver bands are impossibly thin, they make a sheet of paper look fat. Careful application of heat will likely soften the glue. If it comes off, handle like it was a eggshell. But it's a lot less risky to repair on the shank, following Brandon's advice.

That makes more sense than what I said. And I have indeed crushed a silver band taking it off. I got it round again, but it’s a mistake I won’t repeat. Maybe use a wooden toothpick to just carefully pick the excess glue away?
I took a partially split silver band to a silversmith once to see if it could be repaired. They didn’t even want to handle it.
