Peterson questions from Hobie1dog.
Hobie1dog asked a question in the Peterson group forum(PeteNuts),I am using the main forum to show him some pipe comparisons to size scale. Hope it helps.
Q.”Is the Peterson 140th Anniversary model the largest bowl model that they’ve made so far? I’m looking for a large bowl model. I have a Kinsale XL23 now and want something with even more capacity”.

A, “the 140th anniversary pipe is a large capacity pipe, but not the largest in the Pete series, that award would go to the House pipes. Both are quite expensive in comparison to your Kinsale XL23.Another good big un to seriously consider is the marvellous Darwin range, all with the larger B42 bowls which are bigger than your XL23.

Q. “ The House pipes sure don’t look any bigger than my Kinsale, especially the diameter which looks exactly the same…I cannot find any dimension on the Peterson site.”
Please find enclosed a couple of photos which may assist you.
Photo1 is a comparison of your KinsaleXL23 and the 140 Anniversary.

Now I have a complete visual comparison of the pipes...outstanding job....thanks. Looks like the House pipe is the way for me to go...now the only thing I don't see is the stem of the House pipe....is it available in a P-lip?

1 Euro = 1.35645828 Canadian dollars according to google. the more expensive of the two listed on peterson-pipes.com is €164, so 164*1.35=221.4! Throw in the free shipping and It's very close to half of the $400 you found! Talk about markup!

I'm good, no problem here.....there sure isn't much information on the web about the Anniversary pipes or the House pipes, and I didn't even find one on Ebay. :(

I'm getting about an hour and a half smoke out of the XL23 now, without trying to smoke slow, so those big-ass House pipes should get me over the 2 hour mark...I don't know if I want to hold a pipe that long...may have to invent a pipe-holding sling device to wear.

I don't mean to rain on the parade, but as a reminder if ordering from the Peterson site don't forget they're in Dublin and most likely will be a customs charge =(

no clue how to figure it out, I've bought DVD's from China for $50 and customs was another $50.. and I've bought a Khukuri from Nepal for $120 and customs was only $13.
