I wonder if Dave would touch the one that ssjones links to on fleabag. Double sided cracks in the heart of the bowl?
Get out the baling wire!
Dave and other restorers- love to have your thoughts on that.

I'd call that ebay pipe...firewood. The large crack looks like it's also a burnout, it's done. The only thing that is of any value is the stem and the silver fittings.

I just believe it isn't worth the work, this pipe is burn out, and I respect this end, of course, there are still things doable, but for me it would be a case of 'aggressive therapy'

Yes, thanks, I was sure Al was kidding. And I guess my question answers itself- only under extra ordinary circumstances would one put any effort into restoring a pipe that had bowl cracks on both sides. Otherwise baling wire and caulk!
If the pipe were extremely rare and worth North of $1000, perhaps cosmetic work could be done, but with a warning to not fire it up. (?)
