I have one.
It's the heaviest pipe I have. It does clench well due to design but you are still holding a lot.


I reserve it for long smokes I know won't get interrupted.

I really like mine. I had some buyers remorse because I wish I had bought a silver cap model, then I saw one in person and it was much bigger. That could have just been that particular pipe but it made me glad of the purchase I had made.

Mine did as well until (and this may have nothing to do with your experience) I realized I was treating the large chamber as kind of an excuse for thinking I had more margin for error and was a bit casual in drying and “packing”. A few Nording keystone chips I’ve found also help with certain chamber shapes.
I am not a 'filter type of guy,' but I recently found out about the Nording Keystones and am a convert. My initial trial was a Peterson 221 which has a gurgle to it. Cured it and made it quite enjoyable!
