Ok this might be a bit of word play - yes Peterson started making Peterson POYs in 1997 but they have been making limited early editions which were very special and different from anything they offered in their catalog.
I am pretty sure I mentioned this before but here is a reminder.IMG_7633.png
As you can see they have been making POYs for Huber Munich since 1988. I have been trying hard to get my hands on 1993 and 1994 , but 0 luck on that front, probably because these were a lot more limited than the Peterson ones.
I did get very lucky and found the first edition from 1988( also my birth year) limited to only 125 pipes, if I remember correctly… IMG_0221.jpegand a day or two later I found the second one from 1990, which was limited to 200 pipes.

Both pipes left my collection at some point since they weren't my favorite shapes and I wouldn't have smoked them, so they had to find a better home.

Today I visited Huber to get some new tobacco to try and saw a couple of estates they were offering and I just had to buy them…IMG_6354.jpeg

You can probably see that one of them is quite special 🤩
It is a Huber Celebration Pipe from 1987 limited to only 70 pipes, this one being number 50. Now I am curious if there was a similar pipe through out Peterson history and I am sure @ashdigger will be able to tell us. It's a giant XXL House pipe churchwarden with a condenser and stunned Ng straight grain. I have never seen a Pete like it, so I wanted to share.

Gorgeous pipe. Definitely made for a special occasion.

Patents were that big. Peterson slowed down, as least from what I’ve seen, in you guessed correctly, the 1920’s
