So, just saw a post on the Peterson Facebook page that the Peterson pipe of the year for 2019 will be a "John Bull," a chubby Rhodesian. Am not in the market for another pipe but do love my chubby Pete Rhodesian.

Sweet! Now I'm actually excited about a Peterson POTY. I wasn't a fan of last year's offering at all. The 2017 was nice, however, although I never purchased one..... not sure why. I've liked some of the other past years too. I might just grab one this time. I like the look of the old, original 999 John Bull. The current, slimmer, 999 was actually originally the 998. Why they chose to discontinue the original 999, and replace it with the 998 and changed the number is beyond me. I say bring back the original, call the current 999 a 998 again and leave it as such.

yeah, few of their POTY's have appealed to me. The 2015 is one of them and the only 1 I own. But a John Bull is appealing.

That link took me to the Facebook group page. Which is fine, I just joined and it's pending so I'll see it when I'm accepted. That explains why I didn't see it on Peterson of Dublin's Facebook page which is what I thought you were referring to. I'll try to get the photo up when it comes up if that happens before I leave for work.

Judging from the photo, looks like a contemporary 999 on a larger scale with beefier bowl and shank. However, I have an older Dublin and London Pete John Bull and the shank on that pipe looks larger in circumference than the ones in the POTY photo.

Reading through the comments I saw it is offered in a 9mm filter option as well. Looks really nice, especially in the new rusticated style they have.
I'd also check out the new Rosslare Classic which sports the new rusticated look.
I'll probably pick one up, but can't decide on the sandblast or rusticated.

Once your photos are on a photo hosting site (such as Imgur.com; Postimage; Dropbox, etc. Photobucket), or on virtually any site, including this site's album such as eBay, Amazon, you-name-it, select the full sized image, then Control-click (Mac) or Right-click (Windows) on the image itself, then choose "copy image location" or similar words. Now paste that URL (the full web address, which should end in .jpg or .png) into the IMG box in the reply window of the thread you're posting to.

For windows, I open an image in another tab, then cut and paste the web address of the image into the IMG box.

Here's a photo of the actual pipes being offered for the 2019 POTY.

I'm excited about them. I'll probably choose a smooth if I grab one, but it does look sharp in Peterson's new and improved rustication. I'm curious if they'll eventually release a natural stain or a spigot like they did with the 2017 offering.
Lovely looking pipes.

Anthony, according to what I read in that Facebook group, there will be an option for a natural stain. Somebody even posted a pic of it there.

This looks to be in the same family as my Peterson Bent Bulldog, which was my first pipe.

Peterson indeed have a good taste when it comes to pipe design. Lovely looking pipes. Peterson's rhodesian (like these) and bulldog shapes are the most beautiful out there.
