What's everyone's thoughts on Petersons Dracula line? It looked amazing came with a pre treated bowl which I am still up in the air about...I've smoked Comoys, Salvinelli, MM, etc but never noticed a little divot right under the draft hole??? Thoughts?20230325_234547.jpg

The divots normal. My 305 has one too. As for the coating it taste foul to me. It does go a way with a few smokes. And I love the look of the Dracula. I almost bought one but went with the system.

Ok so it won't cause a major disaster then lol...I didn't smoke down to the heel so I knew it wasn't burnout..But it had me concerned as it could have been a defect etc

So far so good...I've had problems with Petersons before when I first started out but as of now I'm very happy with it...

I have two 999s, a smooth and a blast, that I've had since they were introduced. They are both bloody good smokers.
Enjoy yours in good health...but keep the windows closed.

They simply seemed to fade into the rays of the moonlight and pass out through the window, for I could see outside the dim, shadowy forms for a moment before they entirely faded away

I was gifted a Dracula 150 (thank you, again) and it smokes well. Actually, I had an eye on one prior to it being received.

The highlights are the coffin like bowl, Dracula hallmark, and swirl stem. Every stem is different and yours is aesthetically pleasing.

Actually, I'm hopeful Peterson issue similar stems for a Halloween or St. Patrick's Day release (along with re-releasing the Samhain line).

Provided you like the look and it smokes well, nothing else matters. Enjoy.

I think the Draculas are absolutely stunning. If Gomez Addams smoked pipes instead of cigars a Dracula would be his favorite. Petersons in general I find to be gorgeous, especially their special series, and I admire the System engineering. When I decide to invest in a Peterson it'll be a toss up between a Dracula, Sherlock Holmes, or St. Patrick's Day. I know Peterson's quality control isn't what it used to be but there's always the estate market.

I have a Dracula bulldog which is a good smoker. The silver work is done poorly but it doesn't affect the smoke. The bowl coating, as already mentioned, is foul but either burns off or is encased in cake eventually.

I have a couple of Dracula pipes, and I enjoy them both; one is a bent XL apple and the other a straight billiard. My inner goth kid just adores them aesthetically. Same find them garish, but that is what is appealing to me about this line; the stems are particularly eye-catching.

As for how they smoke, well, they smoke roughly the same as any mid-grade pipe. The same materials and procedures that are used to make the Draculas are the same as most of the other lines in Peterson's lineup. I'm very happy with them. I never had any major QC issues with Peterson, and their bowl coating doesn't bother me.

I really appreciate how a lot of their lines are based off important works of Irish literature. I'm not a Hibernophile by any stretch, but I am a history and literature nerd, so it is really cool to see pipes devoted to trying to capture that spirit. The Dracula line in particular just makes the Halloween dork in me smile. I'll smoke a Dracula while watching horror movies in October as a kind of tradition.
