Peterson Carved Meerschaum

African meerschaum DO colour.
But because of their density, they colour a lot slower than Turkish meerschaum.
I have seen pics of substantially darkened African meerschaum Pipes.
And no, they were NOT pre-coloured. Just heavily smoked.

The Peterson African meerschaum pipes come and go from eBay. At times there are only a few listed, and at other times there are over 20 listed. The quality of these will vary as well. Sometimes they're all beat up and need some TLC as they're older pipes that were heavily smoked, and other times you can find some really nice ones that were cleaned up well, or if lucky you can find some that were rarely smoked and are in great shape. The pricing varies at times as well too. Sometimes they go for a fair amount, and at other times you can find them at a real bargain price. That is usually someone that doesn't really know what they have and don't know how to price it. Others think they have the rarest of rare and ask way too much for what they have.

I have two Peterson meerschaum pipes and they are great smokers.
