After my first smoke in this pipe, I have to admit that I was quite surprised. This is my first "straight," I prefer a wider mouthpiece, and the bowl on this one is so small, I was sure it would burn hot. This little baby is a wonderful smoker! Very cool, smooth draw...just a pleasure to smoke. I now see why there are so many Peterson fans here. My next pipe purchase will be another Pete...maybe a little stockier, but a Pete for sure. And, I was pleasantly surprised with the straight stem. A poker might be next in line.
