Picked up an older 999. Very excited!

Some fills, but still looks good.

I just picked this up last week on Smoking Pipes. The unusual stain caught my eye and I've been in the market for an estate 999 for some time now. Will have to report on how it smokes.

Mighty pretty. I have a 999 Killarney with a P-Lip (my only P-Lip). It's a great size bowl, right in the middle. Maybe I'll smoke that one next.

One of the most popular Peterson shape,in past I have had these few, but now have none, the latest one was that of Peterson Aran 999 and this one had a minor factory flaw a misaligned-off stem so I got rid of it,now I'm somewhat regretting why I sold it,even if this Aran 999 was a bit heavy to clench,I did find the conical chamber being just perfect size, most probably,in the near future I will be looking forward to another Pete 999 (presumably not from Aran lineup) both thse Petersons in the picture looks great, yet I'm noticing some of older 999 models has shorter stem fitted than what they have today.

I like the 999 shape, but it's not one I've actively searched for. Then I came across this Pete Meerschaum, just stamped with a P on the stem and 999, Great Britain. I think this is one that's made from African meer, probably from the Isle of Man. Has nice feel to it, and smokes great, but a little heavy for a meer.

Orley, the Meerschaum from the Isle of Mann is definitely heavier but they do smoke very well, that is the first 999 I’ve seen made with African Meerschaum. My personal 999 is this silver hallmarked banded amber colored stem with silver P Rosslare, it is one of my favorite Peterson pipes.

Great scores, all!
I got a 999 last winter and really enjoyed it. I saw this one, and it seems to be the older fatter 999 so I couldn't say no.

That's my favorite Peterson shape. I have one, an Irish Harp, but it's been resting for a few months. Time to take it out of the hanger and fire it up.
