Because they’re the best factory made pipes of that era…Whatizzit, and why is it so special they want $120?
Agreed. I thought this was in the ballpark of a decent price for this pipe.Actually not a bad price for 1946-47 Peterson 307 with a replacement stem.
YES!! And they had all the good briar after the war, and the Duke of Siberia bought one in a shop in Kansas in 1946.Because they’re the best factory made pipes of that era…
Bingo. No worries about scratches or dings!I bought it for $120.
By 1946-7 Peterson was using first class imported briar.
And since it has a replacement stem I’m paying for a smoker, not a collector’s piece.
Thanks for the advice.
And they were hand made, cured in the oil of Aphrodite as well...YES!! And they had all the good briar after the war, and the Duke of Siberia bought one in a shop in Kansas in 1946.

This pipe could have been bought by an Irish maiden for an interned Luftwaffe pilot, after the war.
How can you tell it's a replacement stem? Is it drilled for a filter?Actually not a bad price for 1946-47 Peterson 307 with a replacement stem.
I just saw the Canadian sold for the same price. But, not everyone wants a Canadian. How can you tell it's a replacement stem? Is it drilled for a filter?
