Some people's pipes haven't shipped yet (mine, for example), so it's very possible that someone just got tired of 'it' and said "give me a refund and keep your blasted pipes."
They must be slammed. I put an unrelated order in on the 18th and it’s sitting at label created. Very unusual for laudisi in my experience

My dark smooth No. 815 arrived this morning! I enjoyed the little straight No. 221 yesterday - not really thrilled with the barley that also arrived previously but I'm stuck with it since I removed the goop inside. Stem on it is too loose to be usable - thought it might just be a humidity issue, but it isn't. Tried a stem swap the with bent one that arrived today and actually a hair better but not to the point I'd use the barley, but somewhat silver lining, that stem fits more tightly on the 221, whose stem was borderline - again, my fault I can't send it back, but no way they'd have another barley so I'll see if they have a suggestion. Strangely, the insides of both the bent barley and the straight had jagged, irregular and relatively deep vertical gouges up the inside of the bowl - have never seen that before on a Peterson. The dark smooth bent that I cleaned this morning has what I'm used to, very smooth inside, great looking chamber (some stain dip marks that are normal). So 2/3 with a 160th that have the unusual chamber marks (and you'd never see it with the goop unless you are a goop remover). As for the fourth . . .

My experience with SP EU on the Rua remains at ..... the pipe hasn't shipped now after nine days and their insisting on holding it until a pipe they shipped in error somehow makes it back to them before fulfilling the order I've paid for. I did this morning get an apology and now willingness to ship my original order and that was nice, I guess, after very steadfastly refusing to ship until today, and I think there was a "higher up" look at the situation and I really am happy and appreciative for that, but, lol, it won't ship until next week since they say if it went to AN Post today it would sit there until next week anyway - so better to wait than give AN Post a few extra days to misplace it. I did email and indicate for a second time I'd be happy to pay to have it sent UPS - I think they must have left early for Xmas Eve since I got no response, but my previous offer of that received no response as well, so we'll see if and how it ships next week. Who knows, if it arrives someday, it may have the unicorn stem that solves the other issue!

They are definitely little pipes, which is okay by me and a complement to the PPN which is also really petite - but the old, classic Britwoods I have are very petite pipes as well, and these issues were designed to replicate some older styles. Huge fan of both designs.

Thanks for the great write-up. I also clean the 'goop' out of new Petersons (usually), and I've noticed the gouges you mention. Fortunately they are only on the inside, but it makes me think that they are taking advantage of that stuff to use otherwise unusable bowls. Sounds like your pipes are arriving in three different orders. I placed an order with SP US for two pipes, then a little while later placed another. They combined the orders and shipped together.

As far as the loose stems, I drizzle a little thin CA glue in a few spots and spread it around, let it dry, then sand and polish. It doesn't take much, and always solves the issue.

Good tip!

Well, two have arrived in separate orders but they were separate orders. The order Ted Koppel keeps me informed about every night at 10:30 pm was also separate, Reagan gets in and they should be on their way. I actually had four orders, but like yours, two of mine were combined by SP.

There will be a quiz at 12:01 New Year's Eve!

Yes,UPS - THIS is the way to go from Dublin with the tariffs &avoiding AN Post... it is worth the $39ish especially if you purchase multiple pipes. AN Post was slooooowww..... but now with the tariffs, it is GLACIAL like in speed of processing & travel.
I am thankful, I am pretty much done with new pipes & the 160th year was good. So be it puffy

I agree Smoking Pipes in Europe & the US have always been super accommodating, I have yet to purchase a pipe from the China locale... no need to really. puffy

A great tip... I haven't had to go there yet, and I hope I won't, but a great tip! Thanks :sher:

Based on your tip, I've asked twice, including of someone pretty high up ( ;) ) - they aren't biting. :(

These are my first (and only) new pipes of 2025. I will never say "never", but it's gotta be something really cool (like these).

It's real interesting that some people seem to despise this design, while others love it. Can't recall too many pipe designs where thoughts were so polarized.

My pipes just arrived and the stems are even stubbier and more wonderful than the pictures showed.
The p-lips are PERFECT - the quality much, much improved over recent releases.
P-lips seemed sculpted just right for me - and great shape in the hand whether bent or straight (never mind . . .).

Nice and compact and the two I've auditioned performed well.
