Spellbee.org says "perique" isn't in the word list. I will have to send them a strongly worded email later on.

That is unacceptable. To leave out such a wonderful word!!! The horror!!!
To be fair, it is a French word that we have acclimated into our specialized area of English, so it is more of a cognate.
Does that website incorporate Creole? Perique is a French Creole word, Creole being a strictly regional dialect combining French, African, and native American I doubt many websites have cataloged it.
It is also a slang word that is similar to how we use words like dick, prick, johnson, wang, member, schlong, etc... So, be careful throwing that word around in international conversation, ha ha.

Yes, write them an angry email. But you can't use the word perique, because we'll, perique isn't a word. They won't understand what your saying.
There's only one "E" available for PERIQUE, or are you allowed to use the letters more than once?
It would also get a swift challenge in Scrabble. Better have a piping dictionary handy! At least that'd be Kramer's advice...
