Get some blending perique and add it to your blends. You’ll get to know perique real fast. I buy 1/2lb of whole leaves at a time for my blending. Might be a bit much for you, but other members have suggested companies which offer smaller amounts. I love the stuff!

Dan tobaccos St. Bernard is a nice vaper with some decent perique action going on.

I have the granulated (from C&D) -- I didn't know they also have a long cut. Have you tried both? I may have to get a couple oz of this next order and compare. I do actually like it straight, though usually I blend it with burleys now and then.

If you want to try perique, then just buy a bag of blending perique.
Are you trying to dabble in slowly with something like Windjammer? Or do you want jump in head first with C&D The Beast.
I'm of the opinion that perique needs to be done just right and it's easy for a blender to overdo it or pair with tobaccos that work against it.
