Could someone recommend a light/mild blend for an introduction to Perique and/or VA/Per? I don't know if Latakia blends are for me just yet and I would like to move away from smoking aromatics all the time.
Thanks.

I'd recommend PS Luxury Bullseye Flake. Its a little stronger than light, but a good smooth VaPer. I gave a sample to a friend that said he hated VaPer and would not try them again anytime soon, really liked it and has ordered a box. The PS Luxury Navy Flake is also good.

Cornell & Diehl Sunday Picnic is a wonderful VaPer, it is a golden VA. with Perique and some Izmir Turkish mixed to really mellow it out and make it a very smooth and tasty blend.

I really love Reiner Golden Label. But it's expensive as hell. that's my stranded on a island tobacco.

I'm down with Escudo & PS Bullseye Flake. If you can find it, though, Dunhill Elizabethan gets my nod for #1.

In fact, "light and mild" don't really go with "VA/per," but on the milder side, I'd recommend my own Stratford, which is quite approachable. It's been one of the sleeper blends in my catalogue, almost from its beginning, but recently has taken off, and has received quite a few very nice comments.
