I was watching the travel channel show "Booze Traveler" and his recent adventure took him to NOLA to discuss the Big Easy's drinking culture. In one of his side trips he traveled to Frank Martin's Perique farm? and with him was a guy that was buying perique to make a perique liquer. Naturally they had to sample some of the product and comments of spicy, earthy flavors and a bouquet that reminded him of pipe smoke. Has anyone ever tried this liquer? I don't think it is made is the USA as there was some joking about it's legality, but I searched online and it seems to be made in France by Jade liquers, they also make Absinthe. Same guy as the buyer in the Booze Traveler story.

jcsnaps, it is without a doubt a very interesting libation. If you get a chance to try it, I highly recommend it.
