The problem with Orientals is there are just so many of them and trying to pin them down blend to blend can be tricky. The Grand Orientals series by McClelland features 7 distinct blends with a star Oriental in each and an 8th with Latakia. I have been dabbling with pairing pure Orientals with teas and found vast differences when just adding a hint of this or that in combinations.

As far as Esoterica, depending on where you live and your relationship with your local B&M all their stuff can be easily got. They seem to be just cranking it out in their usual small-production fashion, and it's the after-market scalpers who rely on its scarcity. The fact that people are willing to pay such insane prices for it makes online shopping a moot point but I would not pin that on the producers. They still make a fine aged baccy even if it's soaked in apricots and cognac or whatever but I have been blown away by much more readily available stuff here and there and loaded my cellar with it.
Thanks for info. Excellent points. What you think of Dunbar and Dorchester ?

I agree on the Esoterica stuff. I love Margate, but only get to smoke it sometimes. I will buy more on the next local B&M drop. Back to the OP, I think it's a combination of both lat and Orientals. By the way, the new Turkish Latakia C&D are using is superb. It's a bit mellower...it's hard to describe, but slightly different than Cyprian. From Beyond is excellent. I hope they use more of the Turkish stuff.

Maybe you've already tried it , But I cant get enough Sunday Pic Nic , great use of the Izmir and balanced with just enough Perique

The straighter the better with Esoterica, funny I own those tins and they just sit because I'm such a C&D exclusive fiend right now because my palate is all wonky form Covid getting on 18 months so when I want Perique I want loads of it. But when I get my tase back I want to bust into both of them.

I'd love to try it and it sounds really good. I love Orientals, but tend to only buy blends with both Orientals and Latakia together. I also like Perique. I have some Boswell's Northwoods and it's pretty good, but I feel like it may be even better with a pinch of Oriental leaf. Obviously, that's not what they were going for though being more like a Frog Morton blend. Just like Peterson and Gawith make a blend called "Balkan", both not featuring Orientals. Never had them before and may even enjoy them, but I'm turned off with them not featuring the 'trinity'. Probably, I should branch out though, just at the moment have too many opened stuff I need to go through. I love C&D stuff and want to try many more at some point.

Yeah one of the things I love about C&D is the very subtle casings , you get a real feel for the actual leaf so their Orientals really shine.
