Interesting interview this week on Brian Levine’s radio show with Per Jensen, who now blends with Jeremy Reeves at C&D. Per said the most pleasant surprise was how pure and uncased C&D leaves its blends compared to Mac Baren’s, and the superior quality of the tobacco C&D sources. Can’t wait to try his upcoming 4 new blends dedicated to his father, the Danish pipemaker, Georg Jensen. These will be ongoing blends that meet the deeming standards, and not limited small batch. Available first week of September. Thank you Sykes.

That was an interesting episode as C&D is what I seem to prefer. When I smoke other producers blends I ask myself, why does this tobacco taste artificial? To each their own but this episode further reinforces my thoughts on C&D.
Those are usually my thoughts too. After you acclimate yourself to smoking uncased tobaccos, all of that European stuff tastes like aromatics, IMO.

I may have missed something or read/heard it wrong.
But Per Jensen is working with C&D with those 4 new blends coming out.
I saw in a picture they weee in a round, non pot top Pringle can. Does C&D make anything else not in a Pringle can?

HU Blends are packed by them I believe in those bigger 100g tins

EDIT: This is an assumption because the tins say blended in EU packed in US. Who else be packing in US?

Not typically but occasionally they jave done blends for others in vacuum sealed round tins. This was Per’s request for the series.

I'm somewhat disappointed that there is no "dark strong" Red Va/Dark Fired KY/Rustica type blend like he used to have. I could really use a blend like that in my rotation.

It would be wise to try and replicate some of those discontinued HH blends.
Hard to replicate because the process and tobacco would not be available. My guess is Per’s blending style will produce great blends whoever the processor is but they will be very different to what MacB produced. Even STG producing MacB blends has a different end product.
