Penzance in stock

I love how threads like this pop up. I'm kinda glad that Penzance isn't a to-die-for blend for me. I'd be pissed if I was at work today, busy, and didn't have time to buy some. Now tell me that W.O. Larsen Signature is going away forever or Villiger 1888 Mid Day or even Rattray's Bagpiper's Dream, I'd be the shark. I AM glad that you guys got some though.

*update* As of 7:50 AM PST 4noggins still has 8oz bags of Penzance in stock, and is sold out of Stonehaven.

Yes they did have Stonehaven and it sold out very fast. Wish I had the money to grab some of that, but at least I had enough to get me some Penzance! Maybe I'll catch it next time around. Never tried Stonehaven before and I would appreciate any thoughts about it.

Stonehaven is a dark, rich, ribbon cut English. Thick, creamy and sweet smoking, the tin note is something like,.....well....if you could bake a dark rich spice cake out of tobacco and allow it to age in a tin to perfection,...that's what it reminds me of.

Mine is almost three years old and I think it has what looks like sugar crystals clinging to it in places.
I put it up there on the same pedestal with Penzance.

Penzance fans (and I am one) seem to be like the devotees of the Arcadia Mixture in J.M. Barrie's "My Lady Nicotine": there's just NO substitute for its delights. :D
I scored a couple of tins a couple weeks ago courtesy of a #pipes chat friend who found several in an out-of-the-way B&M up north. Otherwise, I would have been in on the feeding frenzy here. :lol:

My first "encounter" with Penzance was thanks to Phil, who kindly arranged a nice "set" of tastings and had it shipped to me to Canada Haven't had it since and I actually remember liking it, but it is not available in Europe and it is harder to import tobaccos from the US than Europe (at least here, in Israel), so I've been deprived ever since
