I was watching a year-old Virtual Pipe Club interview of Jeppesen and he mentioned this line of pipes. So, as an avid fly fisherman, I went on Smoking Pipes and bought the last two they had. But I thought I recalled that in addition to the “Salmon Silver” pipes (yes, I know it’s generally Silver Salmon), there was also a trout version. Is that correct? Thanks.

I have never seen a trout version, but I've only been paying attention for a couple years.
*to pipes

They look great. I especially like the darker one you selected.

Yes!
Although some might say not a "real" steelie because it's never seen the ocean.

You probably already know, the Danish Pipe Shop occasionally gets those salmon pipes in stock.

Let us know how they work out for you.

Here’s a little steelie my son caught in a Lake Erie tributary a few years ago.

It's a shame that Jeppessen rarely makes pipes with large chambers or I'd be tempted to get one. Love the idea and the spinning reel on the shank

I did find a third, slightly different, Jeppesen “Silver Salmon” bent brandy pipe on the Danish Pipes website which I purchased yesterday along with 3 matching Jeppesen pipe wallets shown below to take them to the stream. I like the stem on this last one the best.

OK, real good!

Now, we need fish pic with salmon pipe in mouth.

*yours, not the fishes.

Not coming from me, I'm reluctant to smoke a briar while wading, and I fish alone anyways.
So, the task is set for you. Is there a fall/ winter run where you live?

A steelhead, Salmon or trout? Complicated…. Because even though it’s a trout, it is classified as a Pacific salmon, if that makes any sense. The big one below is a Great Lakes steelhead I caught, and the little one is actually a trout from a small lake.

I really like Neerup pipes and a silver salmon is maybe 5 down on my list of PAD, but won’t make this Christmas for sure…

Well, the three Jeppesen salmon pipes have all arrived along with two Neerup leather carrying cases. Two of the pipes came from a distributor in South Carolina and the third came from the Danish Pipe Shop in Denmark. I’ve smoked a good bowl of tobacco in 2 of the 3 and they were great. The two small antique trout match holders in the third photo are from my personal collection.

PS
The last pipe also came with some Danish licorice in the shape of a pipe. I’ve liked licorice since getting it at the Little League concession stand in the late 1960s lol.
