I have wondered many times just what the heck to do with my pipes.
Uh-hem [:D]
Keep and eye on the DGCF for the next few years. When and if I ever to decide to sell displays or lots/singles that will be the first place I would offer them. From there, here and Etsy, maybe Facebook. Ebay as a last resort.

My son has been smoking a pipe for about two years now, and he's finally enjoying all the nuances of the different blends. Coyote, tell him to join the forum. I think you'd be the only father and son members.

My son, aged 11, already has a 7 day set picked out of my collection for when he turns 18. I have no doubt he will carry on in the fine endeavor of pipe smoking.
N8, Buddy, I will adopt your cat if something ever happens to you...
Isn't anyone else wondering who else in Coyote's family smokes pipes that has pissed him off so? I am dying to know.

only fear is that I die and my girlfriend sells all my pipes and guns for what I told her I paid for them :crying:

Hahaha the wife/girlfriend management system that backfires...

He probably had a "calabash" stand. Besides, the rack appears full as it is. Or, the calabash may simply be a prop as it appears to be professionally posed, lighted and shot. Or by a serious amateur with lighting and reflectors.

My boy is just 11 months old, so I think I will come to this question after 20 years or so. I have created an excel file, noted every pipe and tobacco I purchased with their original prices + shipping and uploaded it to the common dropbox account of my wife and me. So if I die right now, my wife can easily access to that file, check prices and sell them, except the Peterson that I bought for my son.

I'm in the create a plan for your pipes and tobacco and include it in your will. I have two sons and they both are pipe and cigar smokers. I have 2 or 3 specific pipes that will go to each of them. The two daughters can then pick a pipe or two as a keepsake if they would like. After that my sons can decide what to do with the remaining pipes with the understanding that any they keep should be passed on to their sons.
As for my stash of cigars and pipe tobaccos? I want them to invite some of their friends to a wake and share the cigars, pipe tobaccos and any booze or beer I have left while listening to some of my favorite playlists.

I want to be buried at sea with one pipe, one bottle, and one book. If they can't litter the ocean with my corpse, I better be cremated with the same accouterment. The rest of the shit is theirs. I'll divvy it up as I see fit before I go all Rigor Mortis, but it is often hard to know what will mean the most to whom. With that in mind, there'll be some freedom in the takings of my leavings.
@pappymac , I'm with you there. They better get sloshed. If they want, of course.

@hmhaines - awhile back I saw a story where someone died and asked to be cremated. He wanted his funeral to be at sea on a Viking Ship.

Here's the story:

I'm a 58 year old codger with a 5 year old daughter. All my pipes and tobacco will go straight into the dumpster. Subsequently they will be salvaged by some lucky dumpster diver and they will end up for sale very cheap in a flee market. Some lucky pipe smoker with a good eye will walk away with a great score and post it here!

All daughters and grand daughters here so I'm in a bit of a pickle [:(]
Regards,
Jay.
One of my grand daughters loves pipes! She asks for one just about every time her and her sister come to stay for a day or so.She likes to spend time in the shop with me and would fire one up if I'd let her. Her older sister likes them--just not quite as much.

To the OP I totally get what you are saying, I lost my mother in Feb. and she had a huge collection of angels. Her death was not that sudden and I think it may have been better for her to give/let people pick something that had meaning to them. Instead sisters, sister in laws, etc. were arguing over who got what. Very sad.
