By the way, I know it reads stupid, but can anybody tell me how do we send friend requests?
All 'friends' of mine have added me, but I can't seem to find how to add other people! :P

The combinations are endless. A good espresso and a pipe, certain types of red wine and a pipe, port wine and a pipe, sherry and a pipe, brandy and a pipe, single malt whisky and a pipe, dark chocolate and a pipe, dark chocolate and port or certain red wines and a pipe, some cheeses and a pipe, white wine and a pipe, ginger beer and a pipe, iced tea and a pipe, iced water and pipe...etc. Also depends on the situation, what I just ate...etc. I think we all go through phases of favourite this with that kind of tobacco and favourite that with this kind of pipe. Almost worth starting a thread for what your pipe accompaniment is for the day.

Chocolate covered espresso beans, Sambuca and an iced water is accompanying a bowl of Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake for me right now. Cheers all.

I've been looking for smoking to pair with gin. I drink Tanq 10 straight and Bombay Sapphire w/ tonic. I can't visualize anything going well with it since gin tends to dry my mouth out a bit.
Suggestions?

I don't like to pair anything with my pipe smoking, but I like to follow up with a drink from time to time.
A good black coffee is my favourite drink after smoking a pipe.
Port or madeira are also nice and sweet ways to celebrate a good smoking session!
Cognac and scotch can also stand up to the strong flavours, at times, but the abundant residual sugars in the aforementioned fortified wines is the best option IMO. (Also good when smoking stronger blends)
PS: A naturally sweet Virginia is the best pairing with coffee in my experience for the same reasons that you prefer aromatic tobaccos.

I like drinking sparkling water while smoking, It tends to clear my palate and lets me taste my tobacco, I prefer not to eat or drink anything that impairs the tobacco.

Gin and Tonics work great I find with English Blends. The taste goes well and cleanses the palat at the same time

jay, I would recommend trying Escudo and Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake as a place to start. Both are all world blends and very high quality tobacco. If you cannot find the SG( it can be tough) I would go for Solani Silver Flake.

I like to smoke aeros with a good tea blend. If its something fruity I try and pair it up with a tea of similer flavor. To me it seems to bring out the best in both. I just started to get into Va. blends and i seem to go for the strong black Coffee no sugar when i smoke those. Like tongue bite, its a chemical reaction unique to everyones own body chemestry. So what is good to me mite taste totaly off to somebody else. Just do what works good for you.

My favorite beverages to pair with my cigars are either The Glenlivet single-malt scotch or Guinness draught. Since I am really new to pipes, I haven't had the opportunity to pair any beverages with them yet. I suspect they will do just fine, though. I guess I'll have to "sacrifice" all of my free time this weekend and do some research.

Scottys Butternut Burley and coffee with cream, sugar, and a half a cap of vanilla extract in the morning. I don't much care for Burley or aromatics, but Scottys is awesome!!! If you like Borkum Riff anything, You will love this stuff. Its really inexpensive too. Here is a link to it at P&C:
