I have never heard of him, but did some search and listened to his music. RIP.

Always enjoyed the Chieftains. They have a great album from a number of years ago where Mick Jagger sings the Long Black Veil and the rest of the Roling Stones join the chieftains for a rousing rendition of Rocky Road to Dublin. RIP.

I've heard The Chieftains over the years on Fiona Ritchie's Thistle and Shamrock show on NPR. Love the heartbeat of that Irish drum. RIP.

I love the Chieftains and have many of their albums/cassettes/CDs. Their album with Van Morrison, Irish Heartbeat is one of the best music ever produced IMHO. He will be missed.

One of those music projects it's hard to understand how someone could not like it at least a little bit. Classical music is another one like that.

I'm quite sure Fiona will do a show dedicated to his music. I think she's interviewed him more than once in the past, and she may run segments form those shows.
