1996 Peterson XL02 Sterling Silver I picked up recently. I may have another laying around somewhere…
This is in good shape externally, but the chamber has been reamed out lowering the floor and exposing the draft hole on the rear of the chamber.
Rather than return it, I chose to “rebuild” the chamber, using activated charcoal and waterglass to build up the bottom of the chamber. Once it has dried I shape the bottom and redrill the airway. This allows the tobacco to burn evenly down the chamber.
I have a Savinelli 601 Churchwarden that had a rough chamber as well so that got the treatment too.
