Vitor:
I bet that's one of Trinsky's 2009 Christmas Pipes. Here's a Link where you can see what he thinks they're worth.

It looks both beautiful and comfortable.

Very nice.

It took me a minute to read your winning bid.

Here it would have been written: $203.50
Congratulations Vitor!

I think you did very well.
Has Spring, sprung in Portugal yet?

Phil,
My first "real" pipe without a filter chamber or stinger was a Big Ben. It's a nice little Dublin that despite its size, smokes forever. It's hard to find a Big Ben that isn't a filter pipe but I'd wager that the ones that are chambered for them probably smoke as good as a Savinelli. I'm attached to this pipe and it'll always have a lot of sentimental value. Sometimes you really can get lucky in the $30-40 range.
Mars still has this picture up and I bought it in 2006. The picture doesn't illustrate just how small this pipe is.

I bought the "adapter" for my Savinelli just in case I run out of filters...
I've got a Duca Carlo and an Oscar that are both chambered for filters. I bought an adapter also, oddly, it only fits in the Oscar. I just recently used it again in the Oscar and it smokes fine with or without it. I think as far as the balsa filters go, I may have used them as many as two times, but probably only once.
I wish I hadn't tossed them, since I'd probably be using them in the cob I've got, it sure as hell smoked better with the Medico filter that came with it. That's had me rethinking the balsa option with my Savinellis.

Yep I like the straight best too Phil. It caught my eye before I knew it was cheaper.
