All of these suggestions are awesome.
madox07, that is a tempting shape. It might actually be too short for me. The bend is excellent, though. Perfect for countering the weight.
mso, the 604 EX is a great looking pipe. Most of the ones I've seen tip the scale at 2 or 2.5oz. If I come across one that is super light, I'll probably snag it.
It's funny...for me, PAD kicks in when I can't normally smoke my pipes. Thanks to this persistent cold, I haven't had a pipe in a week and a half.

I've only had my first Oom Pauls for a few weeks. One is an old Comoy's from around WWII and the second is a French pipe of uncertain age but probably pre-1970 by a company called Sommer in Paris. Piffyr restored the Comoy's and posted a thread on it here and I cleaned up the Sommers. Here is the Sommers after cleaning up.

And here are the pair but the Sommer in the condition it arrived in.

I don't clench because I have dentures and I don't want to leave tooth marks in my pipes. But somebody had told me that it was easy to clench an Oom Paul. So I tried and found just as others have that you don't need to clench them but just hang them between your teeth and let them hang. The Sommer is somewhat more comfortable than the Comoy's because it is lighter and the bend in the stem is more extreme. It this is interesting the original seller has a number of old French Oom Paul'’s up for sale on eBay. Here is a link to one of themeBay Oom Paul from France
My experience with the two pipes I bought from him were that they were moderately clean and in reasonable condition, but I'm fairly sure the other was a very professional repair covered by a very pretty silver sleeve, and it wasn't mentioned in the description.

zerohunter, I'm not pushing the Sav 604 EX, but I would say that because of its extreme bent configuration, it pulls much less on the jaw and teeth than a partially bent or straight pipe, because there is not the leverage factor. I would say it pulls about like a 1.5 or 1.6 ounce pipe with a slightly bent or straight stem. This is true of any full Oom-Paul, I believe, in terms of a much reduced effect of its weight, whatever it is.
