I messed with it for a minute or two. I think the forum thinks it's an unclosed tag or something bad and kills it. It's a glitch.

Explodingpenguin wrote me with some questions about the joint connector on

this Pipe. It seems a good idea to share the information...
What you have is a faux military mount. The bit engages

the mortise like a military mount. The mortise, which is

really a shank extension of acrylic, is connected to the

Pipe’s shank with a derlin push/pull, which should be removed

from the shank with a twisting clockwise motion, that will allow

the mortise to remain in the shank. For cleaning, it is best to

disassemble this setup. I have one like it in a couple of my Yanik Meerschaums.
