It's been decades since I had a PBR. When I was a teenager (during the Ford administration), I worked at a semi-high-end restaurant (not way upscale, but my parents could not afford to eat there) and PBR was on tap. This was back in the days when Heineken was considered ultra-exotic and no one had ever heard of an IPA. PBR was not common in the northeast, so was somewhat unusual to have on tap. One Saturday night I was bussing tables. It was after hours and we had been short handed so I really had to hustle all night, and as I was vacuuming one of the back dining rooms the head waiter came back with a nice, tall, cold draft PBR. Almost 40 years later I remember how good it tasted. PBR may not the best beer around, but that night it was nectar.
