I was careful not to use the word "Bong" in the title. I don't want to be banned.

Richard Bong. America's top scoring ace of WW2 was famous for flying a Lockheed P38 Lightning named Marge (named after his girlfriend whom he later married). Richard Bong was sadly lost testing the P80 Shooting Star just before the end of the war.

The plane then flown by another pilot crashed in Papua New Guinea.
This is now been found.
