P&C Free Gift Card Promotion

Got one of those gift cards from Pipes and Cigars and used it right away on some TAD items. Also placed an order from from Smokingpipes.com and got a ten dollar gift certificate from them. I bought my son a Peterson 306 Standard system pipe and some Orlik Golden Slice.

I got both the CI and P&C gift cards. I got three tins that, I am embarrassed to say, I have never tried: McClelland Dark Star, Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake and Sam's Flake.

I've never tried Sam's, but the other two are solidly represented amidst my tin collection.

I cellar all of the McClelland bulk flakes. I've tried a lot of the tinned flakes, but not Dark Star. FVF is the genre classic and I have no idea why it's never crossed my path.

I got the promo and I think it has gone to people who have not made purchases within a certain time frame. I believe it was an incentive to spend. I am in their system and have never placed an order because I have my woman do the dirty work, so she is in their system as well. She did NOT get the $20 promo.
Last night I grabbed a tin of Dunhill Standard and 3 oz of bulk SG FVF for about $5.00.

@Woodsroad - FVF is definitely a solid smoke. Let us know what you think when you get it. :wink:

If that's truly how they distributed the promo, just to those who haven't purchased in a long while, the "you deserve it" verbiage is a load of manure.

Dan you will not be disappointed with your FVF, it really is a scrumptious straight Virginia though a little moist.
I recently purchased two tins of Limited Edition Aged FVF and the difference was most striking so keep your eyes open should a tin ever come up for sale or trade.

I eventually got a $20 code in the e-mail from C.I. a day ago. I don't need anything right now, but I did notice that they have 2 Oz tins of Larry's Blend in stock.

The gift card that I received from P&C came to an email address that I've never used to order from them. The address that I make all of my purchases with did not receive a gift card email.
I almost never buy anything from CI. Maybe once?

Two months ago I bought from Pipes and Cigars a hundred bucks worth of tobacco and got a 20% discount with free shipping. My next order order was also for hundred bucks and I used the $20.00 gift certificate code. (I'm going broke saving money.)
I'd consider myself a frequent customer so I doubt they are trying to rope in infrequent buyers. Who knows? Maybe they are only sending them to customers who didn't dis them in the forums? ::

yeah, I keep wondering if their business is really THAT much heavier than smokingpipes.com, or if the purchasing dept just has some problems. It seems SP doesn't have nearly as many out of stocks.

I have ordered several times from Pipes and Cigars. Never from their sister site, Cigars International. So naturally I got a $20 gift card from.... Cigars International. I used it for a tin of St.James Woods and some pipe cleaners.
Not only have I never dissed them on any forum, I took the time to write a post complimenting their service. Go figure.

Thank you, brian! I dug back through my marked read emails and found the cert. Added another $20 in purchases, so all should be good. All Russ O blends, plus two cheap pipe tools, so I will have three good ones, and two not so good, but I find they are more useful than the Czech tool at my house. Now I can also travel with one, no fear of losing it.
