craig, as I said earlier, Ted would not have posted if certain things about his company was not said. As far as Rich posting, I do hear where you are coming from, but he does have the right to post where ever and when ever he feels like it.
In terms of my relationship with Ted, up until yesterday we have never had a conversation and he didn't know me from Adam. As much as I have ordered from Sp I have never once gotten preferential treatment. Even in the case of the Wessex Brown Virginia flake I asked them to carry. Kaye got it in and when I asked for first dibs, she said no way. I missed out on the first delivery and had to wait a couple of months before it came in again and got lucky I was on the computer at the time of the notification or I would have been out of luck again. So I get no special treatment from SP. Ask peck about that one as I was bitching big time that I got shut out of a blend that they would not even know about if it were not for me.
In terms of a relationship with Rich, he has sold my old tins of English blends and I order tobacco from him. Not once has he given me special treatment, yes I did ask for multiple bags of Stonehaven the next time it came in and he told me no way. These guys don't play favorites, trust me, I have tried. lol
I think it comes down to you have more patience and are more forgiving than I am. As you know I tried being patient with PC and honestly would have probably continued had they not done what they did. It just sticks in my craw when I see a move like they did. I also feel like they don't appreciate my business like they used to as now a corporate giant is in charge and the stuff I used to get is now a major pain to order, even my pipe cleaners were back ordered for over a month and there is no excuse for that in my book.

I get no special treatment from them either. Now, they have sent over a hooker and a bottle of 18 year old Lagavulin a couple of times, but that is the exception rather than the rule.

duckfat, you just posted this.

So don't show up like some whiny little priss with sand in your pussy crying foul because some one posted their experiences and you didn't like it, and no I don't really care if you've ordered hundreds of times with out issues, even though we both know that's not the case.
If you were not directing it to me then I apologize but it seemed like it was to me.

Always remember to speak with a member of management when placing orders. Management members will take the time to answer any questions a customer may have and make sure the order is correct. I speak with management at most companies. The exception for me is P&C. When I ask to be transferred the management is not available and never returns my call after leaving my number.

I couldn't resist :) It's the pool hall man in ya Harris! You've got the secret handshake with Rich lols. But really when you look at even your orders, these guys make nothing on tobacco. You figure in the shipping right off the top on $100-$200 orders. There's $5-$7. what it costs to have employees, warehouse, machinery, materials, insurance (bet that's high), licensing, taxes, etc... They still have to buy the stuff! The profit margins are terrible on big operations. That's why SP is smart to brand themselves so heavily in pipes. Down the road that's going to pay off big time. RYO is going to kill us, but cigars may have a chance to get separated. Rich if I'm not mistaken is a B&M with an Internet store, not 20 employees etc. etc. He's living safer than those with huge upfront and recurring costs they can't walk away from.
So the tennis game back up, or is your daughter still kickin your ass :P
Peck if you called Ted and told him you needed a hooker and a bottle of 18 year old Lagavulin to keep your business, you'd have a knock on the door that night lols.
EDIT: flmason Ask for Trish or Niko.

Rich, feel fee to answer Craig's (dragonslayer) question in a PM.
This thread derailed earlier today, but I hadn't had a chance to catch up with it until now.
I'll leave with a few thoughts that came up in this thread.
1. I don't mind the ribbing that cigrmaster and peck do. Their playful banter reminds me of Waldorf and Statler. That said, some of you weren't particularly nice to others, and I'm going to make a blanket warning rather than to the individuals. I'm watching you. Do it again, and the next warning will be through PM and it will count as a second warning. There is no reason any member has to attack another. Let's lock it up, gentlemen.
2. It's a sad to see any retailer turn a quick buck at the cost of the customer. I've always thought it was deplorable. If a consumer, however, turns a neat profit, I'm all for it. If the market is willing to bear the price they're asking, so be it. They got to the item first, the rest have to pay for their slowness. Wait until the PS4's and Xbox One's hit eBay just in time for Christmas. The secondary market prices will astound you and someone WILL pay to make sure little Johnny and Suzy have it for Christmas Day.
3. Site sponsors are what keep the lights one here. While loyalty to one is great, please bear in mind that all of the companies on the left are eager for your business and it would benefit everyone involved if we give them a click. Personally, I'm hopeful that P&C can get back on their feet soon. Our hobby is a niche market and any retailer willing to sell pipes and pipe tobacco should be applauded. We're a very small portion of the tobacco market. Remember, when the manufacturers talk about cigarette it's in billions, cigars millions and pipes thousands...
Thread closed.
