Had a real smokefest with a couple of buddies last night. Smoked too much. Woke up this morning with the usual tongue problems from overindulging, and was faced with a choice of not smoking at all, smoking a cigar. Waited
'till this afternoon and decided to have a pipe . . . . of Pirate Kake, a tobacco I have found lately, with it's 70% or so Lat content, to be listless, as I mentioned earlier in this thread.

Today, I was glad that it was there! About the only thing I could have handled.

Same story with me as well. The first blend I ever smoked was Penzance, long ago when you could find it in stock. I was a cigar smoker and asked the fellow in the shop to recommend a blend that tasted like a La Gloria Cubana cigar. He handed me the Penzance, slod me a basket pipe and I was off. Stuck with heavy latakia for quite a while....years. I fell off the whole thing for about a year, when I came back, I tried a tin of McClelland 27 and it was Life Changing!!!! I finally understood the love affair with Virginias. sine then, I have found my way back to more subtle Latakia blends, Bob's Chocolate Flake, EMP, and GLP Piccadilly are among my favorites

sorta no. Lat is weird for me. I run hot and cold with it. Either it's the only thing I want to smoke at that moment or rather smoke anything else. Like when I am in the mood it's one of my favorites and hits perfectly. And like with cigars it might remind me of other blends with lat but every English blend hits me as unique. Then I can go months without wanting to touch the stuff.
