Sunny Cornwall, UK.
I have used many different wax/polish finishes on the estates I refurb and by far the best of the bunch is Kiwi neutral shoe polish (containing carnauba). Just so long as you accept that all wax finishes will eventually dull over time you won't go wrong with Kiwi.
I have even used black shoe polish on rusticated pipes (buff with a regular shoe brush) with excellent results.
As for those who prefer 'facial grease', I too have done that but it's a swine of a job to apply it to the back of the bowl etc :?
Regards,
Jay.

I'm sure this will be flowned on by you experts.. But, when a pipe gets that dull/greasy look I clean it with Murphy's Oil Soap and shine it up a touch of Mothers California Gold Pure Brazilian Carnauba Wax Paste.
