I've proudly embraced the sacred tenets of Codgerdom since a very young age, and was constantly reminded of it by parents, friends, girlfriends, etc.
@ aldecaker- I've had one girlfriend comment on my codger-like ways. Most everyone else just shakes their head.
I've heard old soul and old school, I guess codger is about the same. I feel better now. Acceptance of codgerism is key here.
And if anyone comes too close to my lawn, I just turn the hose on em!

They're perfectly OK for what they are - the pipe tobacco equivalent of White Owl and Dutch Master cigars. But if you enjoy burleys - and I keep them as part of my rotation - you can get much better quality burley blends from, say, C&D.
This strikes me as sensible advice. Codger smoke seems to me however to be for those who just want something to puff on that's uncomplicated. I understand this and sometimes, especially at family events, can appreciate it. However, the general low strength of these tobaccos makes me feel like I'm smoking lawn clippings.

Some folks need to have another go through Lincoln's second inaugural address, and recognize that Western Civilization is a common and fraternal project.
Couldn't agree more. Western Civilization is a worthwhile thing. Not really that fond of Lincoln though. He essentially created the modern style of government that will tax tobacco to death to subsidize idiots who might be in danger of hurting themselves.

I don't think that Prince Albert, Sir Walter Raleigh, Carter Hall or Half and Half are loaded with chemicals.
I agree!! They will all dry out quickly if not kept sealed unlike most aromatics I have tried and they ain't sticky !
