Orlik Golden Sliced, that’s all this is. No more, no less. Mediocrity in a tin! I shall pass.
Look again at the tin & you'll see printed 'Aged Golden Sliced' under Vintage. It is definitely not OGS.
I've never sampled any Orlik and am curious. I may invest in a tin of ordinary and of aged; it may result in buyer's remorse but that will pass. Does it compare to, say, Deluxe Navy Rolls?Orlik Golden Sliced, that’s all this is. No more, no less. Mediocrity in a tin! I shall pass.
I ordered a tin of each yesterday, I'll investigate them and it'll make my Cabbies stash last a little longer!Found this on a uk site. Vintage appears to be aged golden sliced. View attachment 308337
Not really, apart from the fact they're both made in Denmark and come in a round tin. Other than that, chalk and cheese.I've never sampled any Orlik and am curious. I may invest in a tin of ordinary and of aged; it may result in buyer's remorse but that will pass. Does it compare to, say, Deluxe Navy Rolls?
No flies on you, Fred Thursday!Found this on a uk site. Vintage appears to be aged golden sliced. View attachment 308337
Not just a press, but one that heats the tobacco at the same time. It's OGS that remains in the press for longer.
Thanks for the info. Any idea how long it's pressed for?Not just a press, but one that heats the tobacco at the same time.
I'm saying from a taste standpoint it's very different. Imo.Look again at the tin & you'll see printed 'Aged Golden Sliced' under Vintage.
It usually says "smoking kills" but to imply that smoking fucks is to imply it's amazing. What does “smoking - fucks! *SPEZ*”mean??
I think it's a great subtle and highly enjoyable tobacco. Especially compared to the dark stuff I usually smoke.I've just had my first ever bowl of Orlik Golden Sliced. Verdict: it's ok, quite enjoyed it. But let's lay the Perique myth to rest; SGL might like us to think it's there, but in reality, it's the Burley component impregnated with the light orange/citrus flavouring. In my humble opinion, naturally ;-)
I've smoked a few bowls now, it's good outdoors but indoors leaves a bit of a ciggy aroma - and, surprisingly, found that it ghosted a pipe in a way that is a bit unfriendly to other blends. I'll dedicate a pipe to it.I think it's a great subtle and highly enjoyable tobacco. Especially compared to the dark stuff I usually smoke.
Sorry, no. I had seen this description: "This pipe tobacco is created using the same blend as Orlik Golden Sliced but is left cooking in the press for significantly longer."Thanks for the info. Any idea how long it's pressed for?
