The UK shops are stocking Orlik Golden Sliced, again. It had been unavailable in the UK for some years so that's great news.

They're also selling Orlik - Vintage. I'd never heard of this one and I couldn't find reviews through Google. Anyone tried this before? Seems like it's OGS that's matured in the press for longer. Sounds interesting.

Orlik - Vintage

"Fully matured Virginia tobaccos are the base of this mellow flake cut tobacco. As with Orlik Golden Sliced, the tobacco is pressed into cakes. Orlik Vintage flake then remains under pressure to allow greater infusion of the leaf in the cake until it is fully matured. The longer maturing process allows the flavours of the leaf to blend together, giving an even smoother, mellow smoking experience, enjoyable any time of the day."

Definitely looking forward to seeing this hit the US market. I liked all of the Orlik blends I've tried and wish that DSK, Racing Green, and Mellow Mixture would make a comeback.
smoking that stuff is basically the Judge equivalent of the Bar for lawyers. Seriously all shrewd judges smoke Orlik. In fact it's the main thing wrong with the legal system, they don't let the judges smoke Orlik at the bench.

Sounds like a solid gimmick to me!
I don't know about that. It depends on how much extra time it's in the press for. The description doesn't say and there isn't any pictures of the tobacco, either. Ive got some EA Carey - Dark Flake No.7, and that was kept in the press for 8 weeks which gives a really deep leathery flavour.

Unfortunately I haven't got any spare cash at the mo or i'd buy a tin and see. Hopefully someone on here can let us know if they try it.

Probably about 1/2 hour.

It does seem odd to release another version of the same thing just pressed longer. Hopefully eventually we’ll get to the root of what it actually is.
