I wasn't really happy with OGS when I tried it a few years ago, but I decided to cellar a tin and see how it ages. It blends well, I tried mixing it with Dark Star, and with Royal Cajun Black. I preferred it with Dark Star. My favorite Virginia is McClelland 5100 red cake.

For a long time, OGS was the hub of my daily rotation. But I recently stopped smoking it to let my remaining 6 or 7 tins age a bit.

Reading all these posts really whets my appetite for more, but if I crack a new tin now I'll blow through it in no time.

OGS is where all Virginia flake dabblers should begin; and where, I'm confident, they will end up in the long run. :puffy:

A few days after opening, the OGS smells less like orange juice and more like tobacco. I actually tasted VAs and perique smoking it this time. The flavors are really nice, and the room yard note is great, but I still get this chalky, orange-juice taste that muddies it all up.
