OGS seems to be a blend that a lot of folks round here extoll the virtues of.

I can’t get it in the UK at the moment it seems.

wondering if there are suggestions of alternatives that provide similar satisfaction?

Reiner Long Golden Flake is pretty close to my taste. It's not exactly since the Reiner has a touch of Burley, but give that a try.

It's not the same really but scratches the same itch for me anyway.

I don't know if anything is that much like it. Light Virginia Flake with just the slightest pinch of Perique (at least to me). Newminster Superior Navy Flake tastes like a light Virginia Flake with some spice to me and is therefore a bit close. Regardless, it is quite good and a heckuva bargain. I also like Wessex Gold Virginia Flake, less spice but nice light Virginia flavors. Perhaps Capstan Gold but to me, it has a fair amount of flavoring and is over priced. You should be able to get SG Golden Glow there. Again, not much spice but nice light Virginia flavors.

Not necessarily real similar to OGS, you might want to try Mac Baren HH Pure Virginia and Virginia Flake. Also, try some MB Golden Extra. Got a little spice to it you might like but usually needs some age to knock off the rough edges. I'm smoking through a jar right now that is 3 years old, it has improved a lot and is quite good.

I had seen that hence why I was asking for alternatives or blends that are similar. It's one that always seems to get positive reports so I was hoping for something similar. ?

Nope not Brexit.
It disappeared from the UK market around 4-5 years ago now.

It will be interesting to see what effect Brexit (?) has on prices/availability of non-UK tobacco.

I second Mac Baren Virginia Flake. Not exactly the same, but in the same ball park. It has a spice hit that's not there in OGS, but otherwise a mild VA flake with a little sweetness.

I think OGS is unique. There are other bright VA flakes out there. But the citrus topping is what keeps me coming back.

Kinda late to this party, but 507C came to mind as soon as I saw the title. Not identical, but similar...very similar when you smell them in the bag/jar/whatever (in my opinon of course).

I should have recommended Peterson Flake as that is always in stock and Capstan Blue Flake as that is always around as well.
