Starting to Get Obsessed

When I was young, it seems aromatics were a starting point eve though I did not know what was what back then.

So I have gone to revisit their merits.

This one came reccomended on another forum after a somewhat exhaustive search for what people think is the best vanilla.

The tin note is definitely a heavier type of sweet with a somewhat floral undertone that carries into the smoke. It is however not a problem.

This one apparently gives one of those fragrant room notes that sideliners love....that mystical pipe tobacco smell that come off as pleasing to most. This is actually a decent smoke, I give it a good mark. The smoke displays a richness and some complexity. There are several things going on with the taste that seem to be there but its in a good balance. Its a thicker heavier smoke but not too strong or overpowering. The smoking experience is not seemingly too sweet. The tobacco tastes come through.

If anyone wants a really smooth, cool and dry burning vanilla aro, try #40 Erebus from Bennington's. It's an honest original house blend, not one of those pre-fab blends the B&M's slap their label on.

I just tried this one for the first time last night. Bought a tin from the local B&M. I don't know. Wasn't too impressed. Maybe I should try a few more bowls in a few more different pipes before passing a final verdict.

Kashmir, I have heard it smokes better in a wider bowl, but tastes are so different who knows how you'll feel, good luck!
Starcat, glad you found a blend you like, for aromatics I have never found a need to go beyond captain black for a nice vanilla.
