I tried PS English Oriental, and thought it was great, different than most of the englishes I have had so I assume it is the different back ground orientals. What have you tried and liked with orientals in it? I have purchased a about 4 of the Mcllelands grand orientals series but I havent tried them yet. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Lots of blends have orientals in them. Many tobaccos that have latakia also have various oriental tobaccos as well.
I assume, however, that you are talking about oriental forward blends that have little or no latakia. I am, personally, not a fan of those blends. I can tell you, however, that the most well-known is probably Dunhill Early Morning Pipe. Others that I can think of would include SG Skiff and Artisan Consummate Gentleman.

I've heard that Early Morning Pipe is an oriental. I know there is some debate about the addition of latikia; maybe it was in the original recipe but not the new; or maybe there's just a touch in there, which some can detect and others not so much. I've had it and I DO think it's different than latikia based English blends. I'm in the camp that believes there is no latikia in it.

I think the best oriental blend on the market today is GL Pease's Cairo. It is utterly unique, meaning that I have never smoked or tasted anything else like it, except perhaps some high church incense (and even that's a fairly crude analogy). If you've not tried Cairo, I highly suggest you give it a whirl.
Otherwise, there are quite a few oriental blends on the market. As noted above, Early Morning Pipe is a classic example of this genre. Red Rapparee is another classic oriental mixture. And, if you don't mind latakia, hundreds of "Balkan" blends are on the market right now (I define a Balkan as a mixture that focuses on orientals including latakia).

I'm a big English fan but I also enjoy the orientals. Besides McClelland's Grand Orientals I'd suggest McClelland's #2045. It's sold in bulk making it somewhat more economical.

Absolutely I would recommend McClellands Yenidje Supreme and Yenidje Highlander as well as their Smyrna #1.
Also you definitely need to try Hearth & Home's Magnum Opus. "Magnum Opus is a blend of Cyprian Latakia, excellent yellow Virginias from the U.S. and Bulgaria, Izmir, Basma and the “Queen of Tobaccos”, Yenidje. Then we add some Perique to give it more depth and smoothness."
All frigging fantastic.

PS EOS is what got me into english blends. The ones that I have tried and liked are: GLP Caravan, McC Coyote Classic (bulk 5125), H&H Sunjammer, Mt. Marcy, Daybreak, and Ambassador's blend. Just tried Rattray's 7 Reserve and really liked it(only one bowl so far).

I was also going to say GLP's Cairo. Apropos for todays headlines, but nonetheless an exquisite Oriental forward blend. Also, Drama Reserve by McClelland really rings my chimes. EMP also to a lesser extent.

My best choices are Early Morning Pipe, which I smoke every morning and Rattray's Red Rapparee. The label on RRR reads high in latakia, however, the latakia is just balancing the rich, wonderful orientals. You can never go wrong with those 2 blends. I smoke them in a pot shape. That pipe shape takes out the best flavours IMO. I have a wonderful Poul Winslow Danish Crown pot for EMP in the morning only. EMP is very delicate, so you don't want to use a pipe smoked with heavy tasting mixtures.
