I started buying pipe tobacco in 1971.You can still go into a smoke shop pick out some tobacco in a jar and walk out with a bag of it.The way I order tobacco has changed a lot since then though.Smoke shops used to have order sheets. You select a blend and the amount you wanted fron their list. Then you send the order sheet with a check in the mail. When they got your order they sent you the tobacco with another order sheet. Then some smoke shops started sending catalogs and you could order by phone.Carey was one such place. As we all know now we just go online.Faster, and easier these days.I guess the object is still the same though.

Although it's simplier and easier with a click of the mouse. I for one wish I had a local tobacconist that I could walk into and purchase tobacco, and enjoy a bowl in their lounge. It's too bad our Government detroyed that pleasure by making everywhere indoors "smoke free".

I haven't ordered online yet. The only baccys I have smoked have been from the stores' bulk blends. I order 2oz at a time and take it home. It will be strange for me to see tobacco out of a tin when I get around to ordering.

I didn't even know they tinned to acco until 10 years after I started smoking a pipe.
Always the bulk blends for me. Now I've got about a 50/50 split between tins and bulk.

I like the walk into B&M where you can relax in thier lounge and enjoy good fellowship with brothers.

From what I've had from him it's worth the price. I'm going to try to save a few hundred dollars to order the 5 pound option he has. It's a great value that way. Buying in smaller quantities can be pricey.
But it's OH SO GOOD. Extremely high quality.

Iam blessed in that iam still able to walk into a smoke shop. You can still walk in and write down what you want and have it mailed too you, or you can browse and pick and chose what you want. This shop has been around since 1918. KREMERS SMOKE SHOP. I have been a customer for 25+ years. I will admit that i do go online and make pipe tobacco purchases now like most guys here. Just my 2 cents here.
I've been meaning to stop by there for months! They're only a couple of miles away. How are they on pipe tobaccos?
