Petes03: I've had it, but it has been over a year. As I recall, it was (like all of their burley blends) excellent and more floral than their perfection plug burley. I'm not sure if it was licorice I tasted, however. A good choice for a light aromatic. I still prefer PPB and #00.

Has anyone tried Uhle's Crushed White Burley? I've heard it has a licorice top not and was wondering if you could actually taste it.

The topping on the crushed white burley is not overly strong. There are hints of vanilla and anise, but I would not categorize it as an aromatic. It is not cased as heavily as classic burley cake. There is much old timey pipe tobacco taste underneath. It is part ribbon and part cube cut. It is worth a try in my opinion.
