I have a couple of Kirstens and like them a lot. They are great smokers, in my opinion, but are different from briars in a few key ways:
-- The bowls are quite small relative to a typical group 4 pipe.

-- The bowls are severely conical, which means I pack them differently than I do my briars.

-- They require a few steps to get clean. However, once you spend a few extra minutes to get them that way, they are clean.

I had a few falcons, but after a few years decided to sell them. Mine always leaked out where the bowl connects to the metal, wether or not I had one of those round asorbers in there or not. Then I found Kirsten, those, IMO are the best smokers I have. never a wet smoke and a cinch to clean. I soak a cotton ball with alochol and run it through the stem, rinse the cap and the mouthpiece and I'm ready to go. Now I have 2 Kirstens and i'm always looking out for more.
Never tried the grabow Vikings...

I bought a Falcon with a couple of bowls earlier this year and I am very pleased with it. I had been worried that it might smoke wet but not had any problems. I would love a Kirsten but there don't appear to be any resellers in the UK unless anyone knows different.
