Yesterday I posted about a Parks estate I thought I wanted. My fellow fellow forum members helped me quickly see that it was the wrong pipe for me. Well, here we are again. I've been wanting a Morta pipe for awhile, even posted a few candidates, but they always sold before I could pull the trigger. This Il Duca estate was in today's smokingpipes latest update. This pipe, I believe, is the one I've been seeking. Smokingpipes, as they're always so gracious, has held it for me while I work yet another possible candidate for first pipe of 2016. I am so weak, but I love Morta and I love squat Bulldogs. Please, honest thoughts/opinions...

You know what I think. You said that you would buy it in a heartbeat.
Thanks for taking it before I saw it.

I love the look from every angle. To my eye, perfect symmetry. My only concern, born from an OCD/neurotic mind is the rim, the outside front/leading edge looks like it has a divot. I could easily live with it, at the right price. What is the asking price?

That dog is a dog. Turn him loose. Just out of curiosity, what are the dimensions?

I sent an Il Duca morta apple to smokingpipes.com for an estate evaluation this week. I bought the pipe new last month and I really liked the pipe, but it had a blue cumberland stem that was too soft for me. The pipe was great though. I wasn't big on the way he shapes his buttons, but the pipe was comfortable. I would have kept it, but don't tend to keep pipes that aren't just right. It will probably be on their site in a couple weeks? That is, if they give me an offer for it. I'm still waiting on the evaluation to come back.
I would say to go for it on this pipe. Like I said, they are great pipes. I just wasn't a fan of how soft the stem material seemed. It almost had an elasticity to it in my opinion. I'm guessing it was the blue cumberland rod that was used? I don't see it used much and wonder if the blue pigment affected the composition of the material?

Here are the stats/specifics... I'm def gonna sleep on it. I SERIOUSLY appreciate everyone's input!! Informed decisions are the best ones and this process helps a lot. I get that some subscribe to the "if you like it but it" school of thought, but I prefer to makes less emotional choices which means time and other opinions. Others might point out flaws I missed or notice some characteristic I hadn't... this stuffs helpful!
Price: $215

Any purchase related to anything you should ask yourself 1. Do I really need it? 2. Can I afford it? 3. Why do I need it?

Of course then there are 10-15$ estates that can be just silly to pass up. Personally I'm done purchasing pipes except for the golden deals, I have around 30 which is more than sufficient for me.

It is worth every penny. I figured around $400. If you decide not to go for it, shoot me a pm if you want, as I am interested. It is mesmerizing, like few pipe are.

Note even joking N8...I added that pipe to my cart and got an error message...they must have put it aside for you between the time I clicked open the page and the time I tried to add it to cart...which was all of about 3 seconds. I didn't even check the specs lol. Mass makes a fine pipe! I can congratulate you and still hate you. Well not really :nana:
Edit: Opinion? Terrible pipe made by a guy that doesn't know which way the drill bit goes!!!! :nana:
Edit#2 Meant to add I really think you made the right choice wrt the Parks. Nice pipe but you could probably empty a tin in one smoking session with that thing.

Lol that's funny! I went straight to the site upon receiving their email. I had a feeling it'd go quick and literally typed an email to them as fast as I could. If I opt to not buy it, I'll let you know before I take the hold off. Lol sorry about that!
I'm VERY content to have not bought that Parks. Had I not asked for opinions I would've bought it and then regreted it. Thanks!
