Methinks this has a stem from another pipe. Fit looks a little funky in the first picture. But pictures can be deceiving, so wait until the pipe comes in. The contour should be consistent and flush between the shank and the stem.
That’s what it sounds like. I never seen a four dot fantail. So its probably a "Frankenstein" Sasieni you think?
Right. I have a couple Fantail Sasieni pipes. They all have an F on the stem with the typical “Fantail” stem that is pinched both ways for a lighter weight and supposedly better balance. None of my Sasieni fantails have any fills or pits either. In my catalog the fantail seems not to be a second but a line on its own. The pipedia article appears to be out-dated in many ways."Fantail" is identified as a Sasieni second in the Pipedia article. In that instance, it wouldn't have a four dot stem.
I think so.So its probably a "Frankenstein" Sasieni you think?
This expert has never trashed the Corporate Era Barlings. Output quality became uneven, but many great pipes still came out of that period.I was told to never buy a Post, they are trash by all the experts
I think you're right! Not only faded, but the photo is underexposed and out of focus. The seller just send me a picture of the back of the pipe its pretty faded , what do you think ?
No its fine Thank you to everyone for the helpful comment really appreciated , with chance it will be a Wonderfull smoker and my local pipe maker gonna make a beautiful stem with the same shape !Sorry we brought it to your attention!
That's a rare one. Congratulations on getting it.One of my Fantail pipes, shape 11R. The Cromer shape with the Rustic finish.

I bought it back in 2015, it still looks the same as in the pictures. If you look closely at the first picture you will see a crack in the stem. I just never got around to fixing it.That's a rare one. Congratulations on getting it.
