Amazingly comprehensive. Nice tip. Can you believe that this 1962 treatise was supported by grants from Duke University and the Ford Foundation? Today the professor would be drummed out of the academy and made to confess his sins!

No interest in tobacco history but I found it amusing that a physical copy of the book can cost as much as $350.

I had no idea that tobacco was that polymorphic depending on soil and weather some of the science bits about Orientals specifically were pretty interesting.
Even same types can vary from year to year based on seasonal climate differences. A reason I don't put much stock in aging. More likely seasonal variation between crops several years apart.
